“ CLOTHESPIN SORTING
WHAT YOU NEED:
1- Plastic clothespins of different colors.
2- Ice cream container
WHAT TO DO:
Have a container for each color clothespin. Clip a different colored clothespin onto the side of each container. Your children will then enjoy sorting the clothespins by color into the correct container. When they have finished this, show them how to clip the clothespins around the side of the container. ( This will be difficult for some children, but persist over time as they need strong finger muscles to begin writing.)
Later, you can help them count which container holds the most clothespins. Can they name their colors yet? See which ones they are not sure of and play color-learning games together as you dress, bath, and play with your children through the day.”
